SuperBowl Sippers

One thing that is on my bucket list is to attend a Super Bowl.  This year it is very close to the city I live in, but I don't have tickets.  Booo! Maybe one day... Those of you like me who will be home or at a Super Bowl party, I've created a few wine cocktails for you to enjoy.  Thanks to my mother and hubby who were the taste testers.  By the time I finished, both were very very happy.  LOL!

The best thing about these drinks is that they are inexpensive to make. Soda is always on sale around the SuperBowl and you can always find a inexpensive bottle of wine.  The other good thing about wine cocktails is that they contain alcohol, but they aren't as strong as drinks mixed with hard liquor.  That way you can have a few drinks and not feel like a lush.
Seahawk Spritzer

Seahawk Spritzer (This drink is for my cousins Bern and Fran)
2 oz. of white Sparkling White Wine (preferably a sweet wine like Lambrusco)
2 oz. of 7-Up (Diet for the weight watchers in the group)
1 oz. of Sour Apple Schnapps
Lime wedge for garnish

Silly Horse
Silly Horse
2 oz. of Red Wine (an inexpensive Shiraz, Pinot Noir)
4 oz. of 7-Up (again, Diet for the weight watchers)
1 oz. of Sour Cherry Schnapps
Lime wedge for garnish

Pour each of the ingredients into a shaker, shake and pour.  Add ice and garnish.

If you don't want to spend the entire game making individual drinks, increase the recipe and serve in a punch bowl with ice and lime slices.  Add a ladle and you have self-serve punch.

Seahawk Spritzer:  1 bottle (750 ml) of wine, ¾ Liter of 7-Up, ½ bottle of Schnapps

Silly Horse: 1 bottle (750 ml) of wine, 1 ½ Liter of 7-Up, ½ bottle of Schnapps

Enjoy the game!
