MommyReserve: Hubby scores big points

After I typed the title for this post, I thought about changing it. Why? Because I know some of my friends will automatically take the headline in a whole different direction than where I'm going. LOL! Don't go there! Every now and then, hubby scores points by doing something nice for me or actually listening to something I said or asked him to do. This weekend he scored big points...

On Saturday, we went to a coed baby shower in Virginia. Upon arrival, hubby got me a drink and made sure my glass stayed full. SCORE! The only red wine option was Barefoot Merlot from Barefoot Cellars in California. Not one of my favorite Merlots, but the little blue bottles with the feet on them was a cute idea for a baby shower for a boy. Barefoot is a basic and affordable red wine, and has won the Double Gold Medal award in 2007. The description says you will taste cherry, boysenberry, plum and chocolate. I only tasted the berries, but I did smell a hint of chocolate and licorice.

At the shower, hubby won one of the games and when they asked him if he wanted wine or one of the gifts in the basket, without hesitation he grabbed the wine. SCORE! We stayed overnight in DC because it was too late to drive home. The next morning as we were leaving the hotel he drove straight to a Starbucks so I could get my coffee. SCORE! I think he's finally starting to understand me. (wishful thinking) Well, at least he knows about my wine and coffee addiction. ;)

On our way home we stopped at Ben's Chili Bowl in DC for chili cheese fries, regular fries, chili hamburger, chili half-smoke, sweet tea and lemonade. Between the 3 of us there was nothing left, but we did have to roll out of the restaurant. For those on the West coast, it's similar to Tommy's.
